Chesmond Jordan

Mr. Chesmond Jordan is a native of Jackson, Mississippi. Mr. Jordan is a proud product of Jackson Public Schools, where he graduated from Murrah High School. Mr. Jordan has been an exceptional educational leader with eight years of experience in the educational field. He is a leader who is intentional and strategic in implementing restorative practices to enhance the culture and climate of the school building. He has led numerous efforts that support decreasing the percentage of chronic absenteeism, undesired behavior, and unwarranted course performance. Mr. Jordan has consistently led with passion and persistence to implement best practices for all students to become successful. His educational career reflects fostering learning communities, commitment to excellence, equity, and innovative practices for academic and behavioral success.

Mr. Jordan has served in multiple capacities throughout his tenure. He has served as an ELA and Science Instructor, Lead Teacher, Grade Level Lead, Coordinator, Superintendent Advisory Council member, and in Administrator roles. Mr. Jordan has earned multiple degrees in the education field. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Jackson State University and his master’s degree from Belhaven University. He is currently enrolled at Jackson State University, where he is completing his specialist degree.

Mr. Jordan is a dedicated and self-driven educator who truly believes all students have the ability to become the best version of themselves. Mr. Jordan’s educational philosophy is that educators must develop and maintain an environment that is conducive to learning and allow students to take academic risks by cultivating intrapersonal relationships. He is a firm believer that education is the true key to success, and with a good foundation, scholars are able to unlock any door that will open to their future. Mr. Jordan is ecstatic to join the Colt Family and is eager to see what’s ahead. Go Colts!
