Kimberly Jackson - PE

How long have you been teaching?
I have been teaching for five years.
What is a major goal you want to accomplish this year?
A major goal I want to accomplish this year is to continue growing professionally by developing new strategies that increase student engagement and participation in physical education. I want to create an environment where all scholars feel confident, included, and motivated to improve their physical skills while also developing teamwork, discipline, and healthy habits.
Why do you enjoy teaching?
I enjoy teaching because I have the opportunity to positively impact scholars both physically and personally. As a P.E. teacher, I enjoy watching scholars build confidence, challenge themselves, and discover activities that they can enjoy beyond the classroom. It is rewarding to see their growth and know that I am helping them develop skills that can contribute to a healthy and active lifestyle.
What are you most excited about for this upcoming school year?
I am most excited about continuing to grow alongside my scholars and creating meaningful experiences for them throughout the school year. After five years of teaching, I am looking forward to challenging myself with new ideas, learning from my colleagues, and finding innovative ways to make P.E. engaging every scholar. I am excited to build positive relationships and help my scholars recognize the importance of physical activity, perseverance, and personal growth.
