Franklin Fairley - Science

A bald man with a beard wearing a navy blue suit and white shirt stands against a plain grey background.

How long have you been teaching?
I have been teaching for 1 year.

What is a major goal you want to accomplish this year?
One of my biggest goals this year is to create a classroom environment where my scholars feel supported, challenged, and confident in their ability to succeed. I want to help them not only master 7th grade science, but also develop the discipline, critical-thinking skills, and confidence they can carry with them beyond my classroom.

Why do you enjoy teaching?
I enjoy teaching because I love seeing the moment when something finally clicks for a scholar. There is something rewarding about taking a concept that may seem difficult and finding a way to make it understandable, engaging, and relevant. I also enjoy building relationships with my scholars and being someone who encourages them to see their own potential.

What are you most excited about for this upcoming school year?
I am most excited about growing with my scholars and creating a classroom experience that they genuinely enjoy. I’m looking forward to hands-on science activities, experiments, meaningful conversations, and watching my scholars become more confident scientists throughout the year. I’m also excited about continuing to grow as an educator and making this a memorable and successful school year.
