How long have you been teaching?

I have been in education for more than 22 years. My overall experience includes serving as a middle school counselor, adjunct professor, university co-instructor, and educational leader.
 

What is a major goal you want to accomplish this year?

A major goal I want to accomplish this year is to strengthen student achievement and college and career readiness by using data to identify student needs, providing targeted interventions, and collaborating with teachers, families, and administrators to ensure every scholar has the support needed to be successful.
 

Why do you enjoy teaching?

I enjoy being a counselor because I have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students. I love helping scholars recognize their strengths, overcome challenges, develop confidence, and see possibilities for their future. Watching a student grow academically, socially, and personally is one of the most rewarding parts of education.
 

What are you most excited about for this upcoming school year?

I am most excited about the opportunities to grow as a schoolwide leader while helping create a positive, supportive, and achievement-focused environment for our scholars. I look forward to collaborating with teachers, families, and administrators to strengthen student outcomes, expand college and career readiness opportunities, and ensure that every scholar feels valued, supported, and prepared for their future.
